2010 Mcneese Greek Week

Mcneese Greek Week began Monday March 15, 2010, and the Lambda Upsilon chapter started the week out strong with an overwhelming 8-1 victory in kickball. This strong start was a pre-cursor for the rest of the week. On Tuesday Pike dominated flag football, Pike was down by 2 touchdowns with 10 minutes left on the clock and came back to score the third, and winning, touchdown with 4 seconds left on the clock. Wednesday signaled the start of arguably the most important event, the Greek Olympics. Pike got first in two events, the tug of war and the sprint, and placed second in every other event which caused us to win the entire event by overall points. On Thursday we competed in the Quiz Bowl, which we won by a staggering 23-13. After placing first in every event, the gentlemen of Lambda Upsilon attended the final banquet on Friday, where awards were presented for various reasons. Pike received the Brotherhood Award as well as the Zeus Cup, signifying our overall win of Greek Week. Alumni Lance Horner was also presented with the honor of being inducted into the Order of Alpha, which is a honors fraternity with very limited members. Congratulations for our outstanding win, and for everything that everyone did to make Greek Week the best week it possibly could.

Berkley Chretien, of the ticket Rye, Pandey, & Chretien, wins SGA election for Treasurer by a landslide. The first SGA election to have voting online had an above margin turnout to vote.  When asked about the election, Chretien is quick to quote "....advancement of the interest of those with whom we sympathize and deem worth of our regard...", that being said he extends his heartfelt appreciation to his future brothers in Pike for their help, support, and vote during this campaign season.

Pi Kappa Alpha & McNeese School Spirit
Earlier in the basketball season, the Colony of Pi Kappa Alpha at McNeese did something different than most who attend basketball games...we tailgated. Letters, the Flag, coated head-to-toe in Garnet & Gold, barbque pit, some music, and fellowship.  Soon the University took notice with visits by the Head Coach and the Athletic Director on a regular basis.  Bringing Letters inside the Coliseum was a first for many to see.  It didn't take long for other greek organizations to follow suit, with the spuring by the athletic department of a cash prize for the loudest group there was an influx of organizations vying for that prize. Pi Kappa Alpha has won the cash prize twice (1x out right and 1x split). Cash or not, chances are you'll see Pike supporting men and women athletics...proudly.  GEAUX POKES!!

Men Return from Dallas
Corey Hartley, Jonathan Landry, Leroy Tademy, Jimmie Heath, and Lance Horner return from Dallas Leadership Summit.  The Summit was comprised 250 men of chapters/colonies from the Lone Star, Delta, Arkoma, and Heartland Regions.  The men learned about True Pike leadership, servant leadership, and RUSH PIKE amount other things.

Four Members Return from Memphis

Kevin Moreau, Daniel Lavergne, Jimmie Heath, and Lance Horner returned from Memphis, Tennessee from the Pike Chapter Executive Conference (CEC) recently. This conference is held every year which not only teaches Pike's best practices, but also provides education on effective leadership, motivation and personal development. The four of them had an absolute blast. Lance Horner, the current president of the colony, said pertaining to the conference, "It was great to feel the level of brotherhood shared among 450 pikes from all over America and Canada that we aspire to be apart of very soon!"
